The Goal
The aims of this work are to build on the Question and Test
Interoperability (QTI) version 2 items (and packaging) to address the
aggregation of items into tests (a.k.a. test forms) and the reporting
of test results both for obtaining item level data and for reporting
summary scores.
Participants
In the QTI v2.0 specification, released in January 2005, there
were three key objectives:
(1) Address relevant issues deferred from v1.0: a new information
model defined with a new interaction model and a profile of
XHTML to replace static material. Authors now have more
control over the behavior and positioning of feedback. Support for
cloning using item templates was also added.
(2) Define a method for putting QTI into content packages: a new
document was also created dedicated to metadata and usage-data (item
statistics).
(3) Describe a method for using QTI with Learning Design, Simple
Sequencing, and the CMI data model.
The QTI v2.1 specification narrows the scope of the
QTI v2.0 project to address the concepts of assessment and section or
the reporting of results. The QTI v2.1 specification is now in Public
Draft stage and awaiting implementation feedback before being released
as a final specification.
