Biography
John has over seventeen years of experience in planning, implementing and managing technology for research, private industry, government, and higher education institutions. While functioning as Director, Program Management Office and General Manager, Client Services for SunGard Higher Education (formerly Collegis, Inc.; 2001 -2007), John worked with over 50 higher education institutions throughout the United States, representing all Carnegie classifications, to deliver academic and administrative technology services. Additionally, he led the implementation of a Regional Instructional Technology Alliance (RITA), comprised of higher education technology leaders, to share resources and best practices to address common technology and online pedagogical challenges. John has worked with many higher education institutions to develop strategic technology plans, aligning IT and academic technologies with the institutions? mission to achieve greater academic and financial return on technology investments. He has also held senior leadership positions with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Integrated Laboratory Systems (ILS), functioning as Senior Program Manager for a 7-yr, $1.1B networking and computing initiative and Manager, Information Services, respectively. John currently functions as the IMS Chief Program Strategist, responsible for developing and expanding the newly formed IMS Learning Technology Advisory Council (LTAC); and, developing and expanding partnerships with other education research groups and service providers. He has a MS in Systems Science and BA, Biology and Minor, English from Fairleigh Dickinson University (1994) and SUNY Albany (1990), respectively. John is also certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
