Biography
Kevin Riley BSc (hons), FBCS
Kevin graduated from the University of Leeds in 1988 with a degree in Computer Science before working as a software engineer on applications in fluid-flow simulation, human resource management and process control in software houses in the North of England. By 1992, Kevin had progressed from software engineer to team leader and then project manager, whilst also making the transition to working on applications for broadband networks under the European Commission's RACE & ACTS programmes. From 1995 to 2000, he worked as a senior project manager for Fretwell-Downing Education, responsible for winning and coordinating a number of international e-Learning technology projects, working with companies such as BT, Giunti, Netg and Novell, as well as leading European research institutions. Since joining IMS in September 2000, he has managed a series of projects venturing into new areas, including Digital Repositories, Learning Tools, Common Cartridge, the IMS Compliance Program and most recently, managing the Common Cartridge Alliance and Testfest activities.
