Lake Mary, FL. - June 19 2006. IMS Global Learning Consortium announced today that Tegrity, developers of the Tegrity® Campus student achievement system, have joined as a Contributing Member of IMS, and have agreed to nominate some of their client institutions for the new Learning Impact recognition. The new program was announced today by IMS at their annual conference held at University Place Conference Center in Indianapolis, Indiana . Contributing Members of IMS help set the direction of IMS, guide in the development of IMS standards and have voting representation on the IMS Technical Board. Tegrity is also a charter participant in a new working group focused on enterprise rich media learning applications.

"We are delighted to welcome Tegrity into IMS/GLC and look forward to working with them to enhance the impact of rich media learning applications," said Rob Abel, IMS/GLC Chief Executive Officer. Abel added, "Tegrity is showing enormous leadership by becoming the first member to bring forward its products to be evaluated according to the impact on student and institutional performance."

The IMS Learning Impact program has been established by the IMS Board of Directors and Executive Strategic Council. Its purpose is to recognize and encourage development of learning technology products and services that have measurable impact on learning. IMS is developing evaluation criteria for the program, which officially launches in August. IMS is also currently engaged in surveying students and faculty using Tegrity products to collect data to aid with the evaluation.

"IMS/GLC is well known for delivering quality education standards which are the backbone of development in distributed learning, and we are eager to participate in the Learning Impact program and to work with IMS in developing the next generation specifications," remarked Isaac Segal, President and CEO of Tegrity.

Rich Media is being featured at the conference, which this year includes The Summit on Global Learning Industry Challenges, a set of executive panel sessions focused on identifying key global learning industry challenges and how technology can help address them.
